The Nigeria Cloud Computing Policy introduces a “Cloud First” strategy for public institutions, promoting the adoption of cloud services to achieve more efficient and cost-effective IT deployments. It sets out guidelines for service procurement, data classification, infrastructure sharing, and security standards while underscoring the importance of local data hosting and data sovereignty. Encouraging the public sector and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to embrace cloud solutions, the policy aims to spur innovation, enhance public service delivery, and drive inclusive growth of Nigeria’s digital economy.
