Overview
Launched under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, NDEPS seeks to leverage digital technology to expand Nigeria’s economy, create jobs, and foster innovation. Built around eight interdependent pillars—Developmental Regulation, Digital Literacy & Skills, Solid Infrastructure, Service Infrastructure, Digital Services Development & Promotion, Soft Infrastructure, Digital Society & Emerging Technologies, and Indigenous Content—this blueprint addresses everything from broadband expansion to local tech entrepreneurship. With an emphasis on improved governance, cross-sector collaboration, robust cybersecurity, and local content promotion, NDEPS aims to accelerate digital inclusion, reduce poverty, and transform Nigeria into a leading digital economy within a decade. Already, initiatives like improved Right of Way (RoW) policies and digital literacy programs point to the policy’s early successes.
