Overview
Geared toward ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of vendors seeking to work with the government, this set of guidelines mandates that all ICT service providers register with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) before supplying goods or services to federal agencies. Requirements include proof of legal incorporation in Nigeria, a demonstrable record of competence, and a documented team of qualified ICT professionals (including membership in recognized professional bodies). The rules also address the employment of expatriates and require that the majority of managerial or technical staff be Nigerian. Through this registration framework, public agencies can more easily vet service providers, thereby improving project success rates and strengthening indigenous ICT development.
